Day 4 (December 19)

Lesson Overview

Before we begin, please read my letter Dear Teachers. We have 3 Readings in the morning. The first with Paulo Freire. The other two Readings relate specifically to the Case, Palestine, and Hanan Al Hroub, a former Palestinian refugee, and teacher who won “The Global Teacher Prize 2016.” This is the biggest award for a teacher in the world. We will read (or listen to) her speech and interview at Harvard Graduate School of Education, USA. I have included websites to learn more about the context of her teaching. We will participate in our Dialogue Circles, as usual.

Readings (morning)

You have only the first 2 Readings as paper copy as well.

Case Study (midday)

See the following websites to learn more about Hannan Al Hroub and Palestinian schools. The Second video below is too long to watch. It is captured in part in Readings 2 and 3.

Dialogue Circle (afternoon)

Our UBC Team created short videos of our dialogues as examples.
