United Way Pancake Race trophyCongratulations to the two ES teams who competed in the annual United Way Pancake race.

Both the Batter Based Admissions team and the Extra-Sensory Pancakes showed outstanding pancake flipping skill and focused determination. After a hard fought battle against each other and ISI’s Bluffs Fluffs, the Extra Sensory Pancakes were victorious. Unfortunately, in a heart-wrenching turn of events, they missed making the final heat by 1/8 of a second.

The Extra-Terrestrial Pancakes were victorious in the battle of ES, but ultimately came up just short of qualifying for the final heat.

2013 Pancake Race winners
The 2013 Pancake Race winners and returning champions, Flippin’ the Pannekoek from Applied Science, Dean’s Office are an inspiration to all.

The Men in Black, AKA UBC Galaxy Defenders from “I’m afraid that’s top secret” won the best team costume and put on a sensational performance during the costume judging walk-off.
Vikings
An unofficial honourble mention for best team costume and fan favourite has to go to this team of Nordic stunners who may have performed better in the race had they not such large horns to maneuver their aprons over.
