Who: Alvin Oh
Unit: Student Records & Systems Management, Vancouver Campus
Position: Business Solutions Analyst, Team Lead
Since: May 2018

Professional Background: I recently joined UBC’s Enrolment Services as a Business Solutions Analyst within the Student Systems Management portfolio.  In my previous occupation, I was a Business Analyst with BC Government’s Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.  I had the opportunity to be a part of the largest change management transformation in BC Government – working with the Integrated Case Management (ICM) project which replaced many aging legacy systems over multiple phases within 5-year period.  Most recently, I served as a Provincial Test Lead for user acceptance testing.

With this experience, I am excited in joining UBC and I look forward to being a part of how our Student Systems will integrate/sunset with UBC’s Integrated Renewal Program as Workday gets implemented over the next few years.

Personal: Outside of work, I love food! I love eating it and also making it!  Over the past couple of years, I’ve been in a phase where I would sous vide just about anything to experiment with how it will turn out!  I also appreciate the odd pint here and there.  I also enjoy listening to music and watching movies – with the trend of digital streaming, I’m probably one of the few who would still go out and buy movies.  Sports.  I’m a big hockey fan.  Despite how the Canucks are currently doing, they are still my team.  Even though I was recently spotted on national TV chanting “Go Knights Go!!” while Lil Jon was performing during the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals in Las Vegas.  Anyways, if you see me around, feel free to stop me and say hi! I promise I don’t bite!
