What is MAC?

MAC is a working group in Enrolment Services who work collaboratively to provide recommendations on, and to operationalize, cross-unit, cross-functional, and cross-campus initiatives. Some of our recent and current projects include:

  • Working on the implementation of a new citizenship verification process.
  • Providing feedback and reviewing the changes to Vancouver’s senate award policy.
  • Working on a detailed implementation approach for the Tuition Appeals Committee for Exceptional Circumstances.
  • Providing support for the unit-level initiatives that will address successes and opportunities identified in the WES (Workplace Experiences Survey).

Who is MAC?

MAC is comprised primarily of associate directors and managers from across Enrolment Services who have operational responsibilities.

For 2018-19, MAC will be co-chaired by Jay Graham (UBC Okanagan Enrolment Services), Jason Kwok (Student Records & Systems Management, Vancouver campus) and Heather Mitchell (Student Support & Advising, Vancouver campus).  MAC currently meets at least once a month, but will work towards meeting more regularly in the upcoming 2018 Winter Session.

Why MAC?

MAC (formally known as RegNotExec) began with a few colleagues across Enrolment Services who saw more and more of their work intersecting and requiring collaboration—and soon recognized that they were more effective tackling cross-ES initiatives together, rather than as individual units.

In 2017, MAC went to ES’s Registrar’s Executive (RegExec) group to formalize their mandate and working relationship within Enrolment Services.
