Andrew Arida, our Deputy Registrar of Enrolment Services, and formerly, Associate Registrar and Director of Student Recruitment & Undergraduate Admissions, is deserving of top awards!

Andrew’s dedication to enriching the processes in Enrolment Services has been noted.  This August, he was awarded a President’s Service Award for Excellence, presented to UBC Staff “in recognition of excellence in personal achievements and contributions to UBC, and to the vision and goals of the University.” (Focus on People, UBC).

Not only being recognized within our own institution, this past year Andrew was also awarded an Outstanding Achievement Award by the ARUCC (Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada), for making “significant contributions to the registrarial profession.”

Well known for his ability to turn complex numbers and statistics into understandable outcomes, Andrew combines his passion for and expertise in areas of recruitment, admissions and academic performance with solid data to support strategic enrolment management policies.

Andrew’s vision in achieving excellence for UBC enables him to lead large teams of staff in recruitment and admissions.  He addresses issues brought to him by members from all levels of the education community; prospective applicants, students, high school counsellors, registrars, parents, alumni, staff and faculty.

Over the years, even with a busy schedule, Andrew has always managed to support the Admissions and Recruitment teams, and attends staff events such as Goodie Days, picnics, and most recently the ES Wellness Day.

He is a true team player and leader.  Congratulations to Andrew on his well-deserved Awards!
