On behalf of the entire Enrolment Services team, we would like to congratulate Linda Lee and Cindy Tong on their induction to UBC’s 25 Year Club!
Linda Lee, Undergraduate Admissions
After working in the French Department, School of Journalism, and a few other departments, Linda finally saw the light and joined the Undergraduate Admissions team in 2001! Thank goodness!
Linda works tirelessly to ensure that all students feel that they are more than just a number. Alongside her colleagues she reviews 40, 000 plus documents and assists in responding to 20, 000 plus emails within a period of five short months. Every cycle we can count on Linda to assist in training new staff but more importantly to mentor and lead by example.
Linda has two lovely daughters, Kayla and Samantha, who she loves to spend time with, alongside her husband James. Linda enjoys dabbling in the art of shopping, the practice of yoga, and always stays on top of reading about good health and nutrition ! Did we mention she really enjoys walking her dog Bailey before coming in to work? Especially on those dark and rainy days.
Linda, thank you for bringing your unique soft and quiet approach to work. Your calmness radiates in the office and you know we can all use a bit of calm during the admissions cycle! Congratulations on achieving this wonderful milestone.
Cindy Tong, Undergraduate Admissions
Cindy joined the Undergraduate Admissions team in 2005 to fill the role of Admissions Support and today she occupies the role of Admissions Coordinator!
Cindy is part of the team that ensures that a student’s application is properly complete and ready for an evaluation. This means diligently answering questions for prospective students and eagerly working to support colleagues across campus and Enrolment Services who work the front line to provide service to our prospective and current students. Both students and colleagues appreciate her hard work and dedication.
Apart from work Cindy has two wonderful children, Victoria and Jeffery, who she loves and is very proud of. She loves to travel on family vacations and enjoys going to Dim Sum and sushi dinners with friends and family, she is a huge animal lover, and loves the colour red. She does always look radiant when she wears something in shades of red.
Cindy, thank you for all that you do to support our team. Congratulations on achieving this memorable milestone!
