It’s rare that I approach the courtyard outside of the Nest and think anything beyond “meh”. However, despite its overwhelmingly-concrete focused normal aesthetics, the organizers behind Harvest Feastival did a great job in transforming the space into a fall-themed, fairy-light filled wonderland.

Under the giant tent, the Feastival was laid out with long, elegantly decorated tables with menus and a schedule of the Arts and Culture Events that would happen after the meal. The Student Communications Services team and I found our seats near the back of the tent, right under the giant Instagram-oriented “#Feastival” sign.

There’s no better way to describe a meal other than with photos, so enjoy:

One of the evening’s many highlights was a surprise performance from the UBC student marching band:

After the dinner, there were a number of Arts and Culture events happening around campus that were free for all Feastival patrons. I chose to visit the improv show, which also happened to be a fantastic time.

If you haven’t been before, I wholeheartedly recommend it. It was a delicious and fun evening, and the warm and aesthetically appealing atmosphere made it a really special event.
