Learn to climb for free at the Aviary

The new climbing wall, called The Aviary opened in the new SUB, aka The Nest, in mid-June. If you are new to rock climbing, book a spot on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6 and learn the basics of setting up, belaying, and climbing.

After your initial lesson, you will be ready to tackle the 50+ routes varying in complexity from beginner to advanced climber.

Prices

• Tuesday and Thursday 5 pm beginner class: Free
• Drop in (day pass): $10
• One Semester (4 months): $25
• One Year (12 months): $50
• Rentals (Shoes, harness, belay device): $5

Some other things to keep in mind:

• Rentals are free for first-timers.
• Payment in cash only.
• Lockers and change rooms aren’t available yet.
• If you’ve never climbed before, you’ll need a lesson.
• Print, sign, and bring a waiver to save time!
