ErgonomicsAhh, October…the month of pumpkin patches, beer drinking festivals and Halloween. But did you also know that October is Occupational Ergonomics Month (OEM)? OEM is a global outreach campaign which focuses on increasing awareness and promoting the science and application of ergonomic human factors.

Ergonomics At Work – What does this mean?

Ergonomics is about designing for people to ensure that products, systems or processes complement people’s capabilities rather than forcing people to adapt to their work environments, tasks or tools. Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomists have met the necessary standards in training, experience and education to apply ergonomic and human factors principles to designs. When  you’re ergonomically set up at in your office or at your workstation, you are promoting a healthier, safer and happier lifestyle. Who doesn’t want a happier lifestyle?

What Happens During October’s OEM?
