Brock Hall ESP staff

Are you tired of navigating around construction zones and wet paint signs yet?

Renovations for the Enrolment Services concourse were completed September 2, 2014 to welcome students and kick off the 2014 Winter Session. Welcome back students! The upgrade to the space includes the addition of advising space for ESPs and students, digital signage and lots and lots of social seating and study space.

In order to accommodate more staff on the Admissions team, reconfiguration is in process for the admissions coordinator workspace to accommodate growth. The expected completion date will be early November. Can’t wait to see the new goodie day area!

Over 20 years ago, the 2nd floor of Brock Hall was renovated which is the workspace you see today. To support the growth in our current and future state staffing, the current use of is being re-conceptualized to accommodate our operational needs. In this exercise, there’s an opportunity to finally do something about the aging infrastructure ie., carpets, kitchen space, security etc.

At the end of June, Enrolment Services staff who reside on the 2nd floor participated in a visioning exercise facilitated by Urban Arts, an architectural design firm. This exercise assisted in developing an understanding of what can be done with the existing space.

Staff engagement is key to creating a space that meets Enrolment Services needs. There will be an update on space at the next Vancouver ES Stand Up meeting. Also, stay tuned as there will be more opportunities in the coming weeks to hear more and to provide feedback at unit meetings and via the ES Connected blog.
