photoWho: Stephanie Kendall

Unit: Student Recruitment and Advising

Position: Student Support Representative

Since: July 2014

Job Specifics: Stephanie is the voice and the face of Student Recruitment and Advising in the Okanagan – answering phones, taking walk-ins, and scheduling appointments.

Professional: Stephanie joined SRA full-time this summer after working (hard!) all spring on Destination UBC, and we are thrilled to have her as part of the team.   A recent graduate of the Bachelor of Human Kinetics, she brings a wealth of knowledge about the student experience on UBC’s Okanagan campus.  During her degree, she was the Team Leader for the HKIN Peer Mentors, as well as a Research Assistant within the Faculty of Education.

Personal:  Stephanie has always been an athlete, being most passionate about speed skating, badminton and cycling – for which she has worn a lot of spandex! Now that she has graduated and has a bit more free time, she spends a lot of time reading (preferably outside with a cup of coffee) – so let her know if you need any summer reading recommendations (she’s currently double dipping with The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay and Paul McCartney’s biography). When her brain was busy studying for finals last April, she got addicted to the shows Parks and Recreation and Game of Thrones.

While she is excited to begin her working life in SRA, Steph would like to eventually pursue a master’s degree—potentially in Gender and Women’s studies—but only after she has a chance to do some traveling and soul searching.
