Hello Everyone,
I have a couple questions.
1. I am wondering whether or not we are suppose to post the Opportunity Horizon as a post or as a comment.
2. Is there a way to format the comments/ or can we add a feature?. I want to be able to comment in a way that it is easy to read for everyone. With the amount of material we all read, I want to make it an enjoyable experience.
Thanks!
Hi Shaun.
1. Yes, put the Opportunity Horizon commentaries up as separate post and tagged with the Week 2 category. That will keep each post separate and allow for comments for each new post.
2. Formatting comments. Hmm. Thinking…
Uh oh, I am not sure if I did it correctly than. Will you feedback to us if we have done it incorrectly? I am finding it difficult to stay organized in this space.I am spending alot of time combing through the site to make sure I haven’t missed something or misunderstood. I would love some sort of weekly checklist to be certain I have completed the tasks.
Also, is there a way for us to track ourselves? For example, last week I could not remember if I had done the “Thumbs up!” activity and had to comb through posts clicking and unclicking the “Thumbs up!” to find out which one I had done.
Thanks
Colleen
I’m not sure I did that right either…
I feel like I’m in the same boat as you, Colleen, as I’m having a hard time working in this space.
I like your idea of a checklist. I think the headings with an arrow (for example, Opportunity Horizon, Pitch Critique, Founder Parade, etc.) are the checklists?
Try this …
If you are a Mac user, I recommend Vienna, an open source RSS reader.
Download here: http://www.vienna-rss.org
In the File menu select New subscription.
To get all the blog posts: copy and past this string … http://etec522m.sites.olt.ubc.ca/feed/
To get all the comments, Select New subscription one more time.
Copy and paste this string: http://etec522m.sites.olt.ubc.ca/comments/feed/
Both subscriptions will bring all the stuff your need to read. You can sort by blog post title, by date, or by person. Makes offline reading easier.

PC software and iPad or other tablet software will use the same strings to get the text. There is free software for all platforms.

Hope this helps.
Hi David, I did install and RSS feeder and subscribed, but I am not finding it helpful. (PC user FYI)
When I click on feed, it just brings me back to the site to the original post.
I am just a very linear person, and I find this space “messy”.
Also, as I asked orginally, how to I track what I have done?
Colleen
Hi David,
Sorry just to clarify for this week. Should we follow that same pattern? Put up our pitch analysis as a separate post tagged under Discussions – W03: Analyst Bootcamp or as a comment under the Forum – Pitch Pool – then under the individual pitch we have selected to analyze?
Thanks for your help as we gain familiarity with this new environment!
I am in a similar position. I am not clear about how or where we are supposed to respond to our assignments.
