Burnaby Youth Custody Services Centre

The Burnaby Youth Justice Services Centre (BYJSC) is a project to replace Burnaby Youth Custody Services and Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services through the renovation of the existing 1989 Women’s Correctional Centre in Burnaby BC. The renovated facility is comprised of 84 beds for Burnaby Youth Custody Services and 6 beds for Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services’ residents. The project has maintained the existing 7 functional building blocks while renovating portions of the existing space to accommodate the differing program requirements of Youth Custody Services and Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services. One of the goals of this project is to be the first correctional facility to achieve certification in the LEED Canada green building rating system.

Fraser Park Secondary School

 

The Fraser Park Secondary Program is a provincial resource program which delivers educational services to residents at the Burnaby Youth Custody Centre. The Fraser Park target population consists of youth aged 12 to 17.
