AQUA 505 001 – Ecological Sustainability of Aquaculture

As the aquaculture industry expands, impacts on the natural environment must be minimized to ensure a sustainable development. In this course, aquaculture practices and management techniques will be analyzed for their effectiveness in mitigating impacts on wild species and ecosystems.

POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN ANIMAL AG SUSTAINABILITY & SOCIAL SCIENCE – UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON

 

The food systems research team at the University of Washington is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct research and outreach focused on complexity and tradeoffs in animal agriculture sustainability, and on building awareness and trust between producers and consumers. The work focuses on understanding and addressing mismatches in producer/consumer understanding and decision-making around environmental impact and animal welfare in beef, pork, and poultry (broiler) production. This position involves extensive collection and analysis of qualitative data and requires strong social science research skills, and will afford an opportunity to build interdisciplinary collaborations spanning research, education, and outreach. MURC 2022 Inquiry for Adjudicator Recruitment

The Multidisciplinary Undergraduate Research Conference (MURC), the largest undergraduate research conference at UBC, is looking for adjudicators to evaluate presentations! This event would be a great opportunity for you to practice and gain evaluation skills, provide constructive feedback to students, and network with other adjudicators and speakers at the conference.

The conference will be held virtually and in-person on March 19-20, 2022! If you are interested in adjudicating or know anyone else who may be, please fill out the application form by Friday, March 11 at 11:59 PM.

The LFS TA Application will be open for 10 business days only, to accept applications for Summer 2022 TAships for all Summer terms.

  • The TA App will be open from Mon., March 7th, 2022 at 9:30am through Fri., March 18th, 2022 at 4:30pm.

After it closes March 18th at 4:30pm, application is by instructor or administrator invitation only.
