The Department of Rural Development offers one of five graduate degree programs at Brandon University and also delivers three- and four-year undergraduate degree programs in Rural and Community Studies.

Brandon University invites applications for a one-year term position in Rural Development. The University seeks an individual with a PhD in a rural-focused field of study (e.g., Geography, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, and International Development). Doctoral candidates with requisite teaching and research experience will also be considered.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and the master’s levels, including thesis supervisions. Areas of particular interest include sustainability, international development, rural economies, and globalization. An academic specialty or research focus outside of the North American context would be considered an asset. In addition to regular teaching responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to carry out an active research program and contribute to a collegial environment within the Department of Rural Development. Rank and Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience
