A Gift to Myself: Victor Borge
I have finished teaching my first online course at UBC. This was a very exciting experience and in my ways a fulfilling (yet sometimes scary and draining) experience. It is interesting to know what my students think of it. I decided to make myself (and may be one additional person who is going to read my blog) a gift. I would like to put a short clip here that makes me smile. The person you will see is Victor Borge. To me he is a great Dane (next to Niels Bohr). When I think of Denmark (and this country holds a very special place in my heart for many reasons, one of them being the bravery Danish people showed during the II World War (read “Number the Stars” book if you have even a little bit of time), I think of these two people. I think Victor Borge to me was an amazing example of an educator and of entertainer. I wish I could learn music from him. So here is Victor Borge – enjoy!
