Canadian Association of Physicists Congress: Women in Physics
During the CAP 2011 Congress in St. John’s Newfoundland and Labrador we had a chance to reconnect with our women physicists colleagues from all over Canada and from UK. Ann Marks from UK – a physics teacher who initiated Physics in Primary School Project in the UK came to present to our community (see my earlier post). I am inspired by people like Ann (center in the front row). I am also inspired by other women who combine successful academic career, families, outreach activities and make an impact all over the world. In this photo you can see some of these amazing women: my colleagues who do physics and physics education research all across Canada. It is very important for me to see how successful women are in science and in science education, to exchange ideas and reconnect with friends.
