I have been thinking about SMART Boards for a while now. One of the concerns I have had, is that this technology is very much teacher-centered… You can do many exciting things with SMART Boards, but one person at a time… This is a concern for me.  Luckily, I am teaching an online course now that brings together a lot of mathematics and science teachers who also share these concerns and one of the students shared this information with me… I wonder if this is going to be more engaging… At the same time, I keep thinking, what if two students share an Ipad – will that be enough? What is the right balance between technology and other ways of engaging students? I hope these will be some of the issues, we will try to figure out during the summer course this year.
