4th Mathematics and Science Family Day – November 1st, 2014
Once again we are getting ready for the Mathematics and Science Family Day. This event has become a tradition in the faculty. It is our fourth time organizing it. This time it became even more important as the dispute between the teachers and the government that presented half a million BC students from starting schools this year hasn’t been resolved. This is a very special event for me as I believe that engaging families in mathematics and science education is very important. It is also important because it provides an opportunity to engage K-12 teachers many of whom are not science teachers in science and mathematics outreach. I hope we will have a very exciting event! I am looking forward to it and I am grateful that both the Dean and the Head of my department support it, as well as many faculty and students who always volunteer their time and talents to make it a success.
