4th International STEM in Education Conference at BNU
I am very fortunate to be able to participate in the 4th International STEM in Education Conference at Beijing Normal University. I am also proud to represent UBC and to be a member of the Executive Organizing Committee. I feel I am a part of a very exciting group and I hope we will become and Association as a result. This conference attracted more than 200 people from 20 different countries. Today’s key note was by a Stanford professor – Marcia Linn. It was my first time to attend her talk. It was very interesting. She spoke about a Web-based Inquiry Science Environment (WISE).
I also presented my workshop today. It drew more than 50 people who actively participated. It was very exciting to see such an engaged audience. I was worried that a language barrier would be a problem, but it wasn’t. I am very happy my first out of four different talks in BJ is over. One down, three to go…

I have had so many interesting conversations and new ideas in the last 24 hours. This conference is going to be a very productive and inspiring conference for me. I hope other people feel the same way.
