PGWP Workshops and Immigration Q&A Session: Travelling Outside Canada during the Holidays for International Students

The UBC International Student Advising Office is hosting sessions to address your questions and provide clarification on important topics for international students.

  1. Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Workshops

Get up-to-date information about the recently announced changes to the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Program, eligibility criteria, application process, work eligibility during the transition to a PGWP, and important considerations when travelling after completing your studies. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session with Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIAs) from International Student Advising.

  1. Immigration Q&A Session: Travelling Outside Canada during the Holidays

Planning to travel during the winter break? Join us for an interactive Q&A session where an International Student Advisor will answer all your questions about travelling outside Canada as an international student. We will cover topics such as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)/eTA, re-entry requirements, essential travel documents, and how your travel may impact your study plans. This is your chance to get advice and ensure you’re fully prepared for a smooth return to Canada.

Post-Arrival Workshop – Meet an ISA for International Students

The International Student Development team at UBC is hosting a virtual Post-Arrival Workshop for international students. This session will address important topics related to your transition to Canada, such as immigration documents, work eligibility, health insurance, and travel outside Canada. An International Student Advisor (ISA) will be there to answer your questions.
