Registration for the virtual CPA Fall Recruit workshop series is now open on COOL!
Whether you’re exploring your accounting career path options or gearing up for applying for your dream job with an accounting firm, this series is your gateway to success. Join us at each workshop for an in-depth overview of how to put your best foot forward for each step of recruit. The first two workshops in this series are scheduled as follows:
Intro to Public Practice Recruit
Tuesday, July 8th, 4:45 – 6:15 PM
If you are considering your CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation, this session is highly recommended. You will hear from a panel of senior accounting students who have successfully gone through the Public Practice Recruit process, including strategies and tips they wish they knew beforehand. The Business Career Centre will also share steps you should be taking to maximize your chances of landing a summer internship, co-op placement, or full-time position at your target firm to give you a head start in the recruitment process. You will also be introduced to CPABC and we will outline the support they can provide.
Networking for Success
Wednesday, July 16th, 4:45 – 6:15 PM
Are you looking to make some valuable connections from those currently working in accounting roles? Interested in finding out more about different firms, public practice and industry? If yes, then this session is highly recommended!
Meaningful connections can be made through both organized and proactive opportunities. These contacts can result in informational interviews/coffee chats that can provide critical information to target firms, prepare tailored applications, and stand out in interviews. When firms make decisions about who to interview or hire, the people they already know have a distinct advantage. Come learn some strategies and connect with our panel of senior students that recently networked their way to success.
