Students who have either a research interest or topical interest have the option of working with a faculty member to do a directed study. Students must find a faculty member willing to supervise the student. Generally these agreements must be made prior to the start of the term, and students usually put together a syllabus or readings and suggest assignments and due dates. Forms must be completed in partnership with a faculty member and submitted to the department for approval.
