A recent poll suggests Peruvians are willing to consider voting for a woman for president.
Lourdes Flores, leader of Unidad Nacional, appears to be a leading contender for the presidency according to some polls. Flores is also president of the Popular Christian Party (PPC), a conservative Christian party primarily based in affluent quarters of Lima.
