Sly Stone made his first appearance on stage in nearly two decades at the Grammy Awards the other night. I missed the performance, but his huge white Mohawk was splashed all over the net. In MRZine, Ron Jacobs uses Sly’s Grammy gig as a springboard for reminiscing on the Sly of old.

What a disappointment. Even when he couldn’t carry the tune none of the “all star band” characters stepped up and made this thing worthwhile. Too bad.
Sly? I thought it was Dennis Rodman!
Oh, and would someone tell Stephen Tyler to quit showing up at these things? I hate to say it, but his scream is getting old.
