Dana Dmytro

My name is Dana Dmytro, and I’ve returned to UBC after eight years working as a school psychologist. I’m now a second-year doctoral student in the School and Applied Child Psychology Program. I grew up in Medicine Hat and Calgary, Alberta and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in School Psychology at UBC. The aim of my research is to gain new knowledge that can support Canadian middle and secondary schools to strengthen interventions that can prevent substance use related harms for youth with additional support needs. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, paddle boarding, and spending time with my family and our dog, Murphy. A few fun facts about me – I love roller-skating and I can read, write, and speak Thai!
