Matthew Lee

I was born and raised in Ottawa, where I completed a B.Ed. at Laurentian University, and a B.A. (Hons.) at the University of Ottawa. Prior to joining the UBC School and Applied Child Psychology program, I taught Elementary and Middle School English in Japan prior to joining the UBC School and Applied Child Psychology program. Currently a Doctoral Candidate, my research focuses how parents and teachers influence the social development of youth, particularly those with emotional and behaviour problems. I have benefited from clinical experiences that closely match his research interests, including working as a school psychology intern with the Conseil Francophone de la Colombie-Britanique, co-facilitating a group intervention for parents of children with ADHD, and consulting with teachers to implement an intervention aimed at improving the social outcomes for children with ADHD. Living in Vancouver, I enjoy cycling in my free time.

I have completed my internship at the BC School and Applied Child Internship program, and completing a thesis dissertation, which is on Teacher Perspectives of Student Social Problems.
