I am a second year Master of Education student in the School and Applied Child Psychology program. Through my work in the education system, my goal is to support children’s learning and development by fostering learning environments that instil a strong sense of confidence and belonging. I’m passionate about providing students with tools and opportunities to grow, which will continue to support them across the lifespan and lead to long-lasting, positive impacts. I am from Toronto, Ontario. I completed my undergrad at the University of Guelph in Early Childhood Studies and Education. I always dreamed of a career in which I could integrate my knowledge in child development, education, and psychology – but I wasn’t exactly sure what that would look like. During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to meet with a school psychologist and learn about the field. Soon after, it was clear to me that this is what I had been searching for. One thing I love about the program is being able to bring strategies that are evidence-based and effective into practice, while also being able to incorporate creativity into my work with students. I also love the collaborative aspect of the program, which provides opportunities for students and professionals to bring their knowledge and ideas together. In my spare time, I love to hike and spend time outside exploring beautiful BC! The knowledge and experience you bring is so valuable and will only continue to grow throughout your time in the program. My advice is to use this time to develop relationships and be curious in your learning!
