I am a second year Master of Education student in the School and Applied Child Psychology program. After my degree, I plan to work in school districts as a school psychologist, helping students and creating inclusive education environments. I grew up in Richmond and went to the University of Calgary to complete my undergraduate degree in Psychology and then my Bachelor of Education at UBC. In Calgary, I studied ADHD and stigma, and it propelled my interest in the field. I have always loved working with kids and had an interest in education. After working as a remedial instructor in reading, I found the intersection of my passions – school psychology. The UBC program cohort model and practical experienced offers allows for such a wide array of experiences and learning opportunities. In my spare time, I love to try new Vancouver restaurants, go for walks at the beach, or hang out with my dogs. A piece of advice I have for any grad student is to be inquisitive by asking questions, stay organized, and remember you deserve to be here!
