I am a first year student in the MEd school psychology program. Upon completing my MEd, my current plan is to work in secondary schools. I was born and raised in Vancouver and did my undergraduate degree at UBC—during which I did a major in psychology and a minor in English literature. During my time between my undergraduate degree and the start of my MEd, I worked as an education assistant at a secondary school, which inspired me to apply for the SACP program. In my spare time, I train in powerlifting and compete at the national level, enjoy writing poetry, am a fair-weather bike rider, sing karaoke on a weekly basis, and love walking my dog “Baggy” in Pacific Spirit Park. My favorite part of the SACP program thus far has been the hands-on nature of our studies. I enjoy that we get to do a lot of presentations, began placements within the schools early, and appreciate the discussions we are able to have as a cohort in the classroom. Currently, I am looking forward to furthering my knowledge in the field of school psychology and becoming increasingly able to make a positive difference in the lives of students and staff.
