I grew up in Burnaby, BC, where I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology and a major in English literature. My intention was initially to teach in secondary school, but after completing my TESL I began teaching English to language learners in downtown Vancouver. After a few years I transitioned to teaching students with learning differences at Symbols Multisensory Tutoring Centres, where I have worked for more than six years. It was during this time that I developed my research interests in learning disabilities and comorbid anxiety. I’ve been enjoying getting involved in the UBC community, and the welcome from the SACP program in particular has been incredible!
