Hi my name is Natalie. I am a first year MEd student in the SACP program. Before attending UBC, I completed by B.A. (Honours) in Psychology at the University of Calgary, where I also competed on the women’s varsity soccer team. While at U of C I studied emotion and cognition, focussing on the impacts of depression on women’s memory and attention. Although I enjoyed my research, I discovered a passion for helping children with coping and developmental strategies, as well as developing positive supports at the school and family level. This made my decision to pursue School and Applied Child Psychology very easy. I am so excited to have been selected for the SACP program at UBC as it is one of the top institutions in the country, as well as one of the most highly regarded programs for School Psychology. It also helps that the campus is located in one of the most beautiful places in the world! I look forward to continue developing the necessary skills to be an effective School Psychologist.
