Luce Calderon
Luce Calderon is a master’s student in the School and Applied Child Psychology (SACP) program at the University of British Columbia. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Educational Psychology at Simon Fraser University. Luce has more than a decade of experience working with children across diverse contexts, including day camps, behavioral intervention, afterschool programs and early childhood education. Her research focuses on neurodevelopmental disorders in young children, with a particular emphasis in the early childhood population which she believes is underrepresented in the literature. Her current thesis examines the association between social-emotional learning and ADHD symptomology in early childhood. Outside of her academic work, Luce loves finding ways to connect mental and physical health and wishes to incorporate this into her future research. She currently holds certification as a personal trainer, yoga instructor, and Pilates teacher and actively instructors fitness classes. When she’s not studying or teaching, you can usually find her outdoors spending time with her toddler and dog.
