I am currently in my first year of the School and Applied Child Psychology PhD program. I hope to assist children and families with mental health and behavioural difficulties. My career goals would be to work in the community providing therapeutic interventions and assessments in the early childhood period. I am originally from Northern Ontario. I studied psychology at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. My former work as an ABA Therapist has given me the opportunity to work in various special needs classrooms, such as ASD programs, which inspired me to continue my studies. I wanted to further understand the educational system and be able to support those exceptional students who may be struggling in home, community, and school environments. I enjoy connecting with peers and faculty who are all passionate about helping children and youth thrive. I appreciate how diverse our interests are, which allows for great discussion inside and outside seminars/lectures. In my spare time, I like to draw, paint and roller skate! A piece of advice I can offer a new grad student would be that balancing work and life priorities is difficult, but you can always make some time for a hobby or fun activity!
