Reinventing Online Learning During The Pandemic

The pandemic has absolutely shifted and even entirely turned different aspects of life as we know it on their head. Across the board and around the globe, we have seen a tremendous amount of attention to detail and overall emphasis on finding the most meaningful and sustainable way to find our way through these uncertain circumstances. Practically every aspect of our lives and other corresponding industries has been forced into a position of change in one way or another.

Now, as the world begins to find its way at the other end of the pandemic (though we are by no means out of the woods), It is more important than ever for us all to be aware and understanding of the interest and investment in continuing that pathway and being able to effectively and successfully navigate the pathway towards being able to shift out of the pandemic and gain back a sense of normalcy (regardless of if that normalcy is more aligned with what we experienced pre-pandemic or if it is a new shift post-pandemic).

The impact of the pandemic on academics

For education specifically, there is quite a lot to be said about the fact that this is an industry that has been completely turned on its head in the wake of the ongoing pandemic. Traditional education came to a screeching halt around the globe and as a result there was a definitive need to be able to find an effective way to shift forward in order for teaching and learning to continue. As a necessary industry, education was given more attention to detail and overall emphasis than other fields and it has begun to evolve spectacularly as a result.

Online learning began to shift

While online learning was of course around prior to the pandemic, it was definitely not commonplace. However, when the pandemic began to rise around the globe, there was a distinctive shift in the way that online learning was approached and invested in. That shift resulted in what is arguably the most definitive response to the pandemic throughout education standards across the board and around the globe. Online learning is no longer a niche  respective education. In fact, in many ways, online learning is beginning to become the new industry norm (and even the new industry standard, in some parts of the world).

Embracing the reinvention of online learning during the pandemic

The reinvention of online learning during a pandemic was a distinct response to the recognition and understanding that as the world was definitely changing colour then needed to be a shift in education. And quite frankly, it was a shift that was very much overdue. From giving individuals across the board and around the globe a student discount for online learning to introducing an entirely new framework towards utilising the fundamentals of traditional education that are still relevant in collaboration with the modern innovations of online teaching and learning. and it is still very much a work in progress. This is just the start and the best from online learning and teaching is still very much to come.
