Good evening Writing Prose. Attached below is a list of ten tips to not only creating a professional LinkedIn account, but also how to maximize networking through the site.
– Use a clear, professional image for the profile picture
– Treat the profile as though it were a resume and keep it as up to date as possible.
– Reach out using a personalized invite in order to make meaningful connections with others
– Accept connection requests: have a criterion for acceptance but know what is lost in being closed off
– Connect to people with those who are suggested by LinkedIn as there is an algorithm used by the site which suggest other members that align professionally in one way or another with the user.
– Join groups that target particular audience members, ideally, those whose interests are in line with the business, and get to know fellow members to expand on relationships.
– Have your profile stand out with a good first impression (A filled out profile that is detailed and professional)
– Use keywords in the headline, summary, and experience to help get noticed by other professionals, especially those in similar professions or that are looking for a particular expertise.
– Be engaging with content through interesting and educational content. It is rather challenging to attract the attention of others without having any sort of stimulus to capture attention in the first place.
– Follow up with connections: Helps develop meaningful longterm relationships especially for customer retention
