ESP Newbies

It has been a busy time of the year with people having babies and going on secondment on the Enrolment Services Professional team. So, we’ve brought on a bunch of great new people. You’ve probably all seen their happy faces around campus already, but I wanted to make sure you know their names too; so, when you go to say hi, it’s not too awkward.

ChloeChloe Kwan comes to us from  the Engaged Immigrant Youth Program at Vancouver School Board where she was a Youth Worker. She loves taking long walks in the city, checking out the different neighbourhoods and small business, and she especially loves walking along the seawall and enjoying the beautiful views in Vancouver! One thing to know, Chloe also loves singing in the car, and often finds herself unconsciously singing along to an entire song while her thoughts simultaneously wander off to Never land… just a precautionary note for anyone who may ride with her in the future.

ESP LauraLaura Beaulac’s love of the mountains and the ocean is what brings and keeps her in Vancouver. In fact, she loves the ocean so much she recently became a certified free diver while on her honeymoon in Bali! She reached a depth of 30 meters!! Laura prefers savory to sweet, and most definitely favours dogs over cats. And, her beverage of choice is either red wine, or martinis with extra olives.

RachelRachel Wu was born and raised in Shanghai, China. But, she now calls Vancouver home and  lives here happily with her hubby, Houjin, and two kids: Acadia and Justin (see the pic of them in Rachel’s very first garden). Hiking is hands down one of her favourite outdoor activities. The picture of Rachel was taken by her son after climbing the Grouse Grind.

dariaDaria Patrusheva was named after a character in a novel. As a result, her life motto is “always bring a book.” Her goal is to read 50 books this year! If you have any good suggestions she would love to hear them.  If she’s not reading, she’s probably experimenting with recipes. She says “I’m a firm believer that cooking is an art, not a science (which, admittedly, sometimes leads to kitchen disasters).”

SunnyOutside of work Sunny Sandhu is a nature-loving fitness enthusiast. That being said, he likes to cultivate mental fitness just as much as physical. All that exercise makes Sunny one hungry guy. One of his vices is food. He can be heard saying “Mmmm…I love food,” and  can be found regularly exploring new restaurants. He also appreciates a good vacation. When vacationing, he loves being on Vancouver Island, the Caribbean, and enjoys going on cruises (you should ask him about the cruise he went on this month).
