UPDATE! We just received the following message regarding the Healthy Workplace Applicants for spring 2016:

Given the overwhelming number of wonderful applications submitted this round, and UBC’s ongoing commitment to workplace wellbeing, UBC HR has made the decision to fund all of the eligible applications submitted this round.

We will provide details about the other successful applications on the blog soon, and in the newsletter in June.

Yellow Bicycle Sign on Track by Keerati | Freedigitalphotos.netEnrolment Services staff submitted a number of applications for the spring 2016 round of the Healthy Workplace Initiative fund including applications for:

  • A community garden
  • Team health challenge
  • Bike share
  • Cooking classes
  • Field school at UBC Botanical Gardens

Of the 37 eligible applications submitted from across UBC, 18 all were randomly selected to receive funding including Student Records & Systems Management’s (SRSM’s) application to support a bike share program. SRSM will soon receive funds to purchase two new bikes and safety equipment, which will then be available for everyone in ES to use.

Healthy Workplace Initiative funding cycles begin in April and November each year, so don’t be discouraged if your application was unsuccessful this time around. You’ll have another chance to have your initiative funded in a few months.

UBC Okanagan staff, I heard a rumor that the Facilities group received funding and they are going to build a community garden for all of the campus to enjoy!
