Sit less and move more this February with #MoveUBC

With classes, papers and midterms, UBC knows it’s not easy to hit the gym every day. What can you do instead? Take long walks, try short sprints, bike instead of commuting – but most importantly, avoid sitting for long periods of time if you can.

Research has shown that moving more and sitting less can improve your mental and physical health, which helps you feel good and reduces the risk of many preventable diseases like cancer, diabetes and mental illness.

Find out why it’s important to start tackling the ‘sitting disease’ now, explore how you you can start moving more and stay committed to it with #MoveUBC this month! Learn more. move.ubc.ca
