The 1619 podcast was made to commemorate the 400th anniversary of American slavery. The series covers the impact, legacy, and history of slavery in America. It is an extremely poignant and impactful listen. The podcast has so far covered topics such as the civil right’s movement, the economic benefit of slavery, and American music/entertainment’s exploitation of black people. Definitely a must listen if you want to learn more about these topics.
