Work Experience
Having graduated from College with B.Sc. in Logistics & Business Management I began my career working with Ireland’s largest telecommunications company (Three Ireland) assisting on software implementation & upgrade projects; I also gained experience with Oracle Financials and provided Oracle support to our Finance team. Following a two year spell with Three Ireland I moved to Metlife. This role was mostly project based and involved working with a number of different teams within the company. Last July I made the move to BC and began by working with BCAA as an Analyst on a three month temporary contract. I have been working in UBC since October of 2015. As a Business Support Analyst, I played a role in supporting the business operations of the SITS:Vision student management solution; performing technical activities related to ongoing operations and business support for the system. On May 16th I began a permanent role in Enrolment Services as the Business Operations Analyst. Together with Pam Narsih we complete the BOA team.
Interests
In comparison to some of the interesting facts I’ve already heard from the SRSM team (Pet Crows, Mind Reading, Fiery Burning Hatred for Peanut Butter to name a few…), I fear my interests may be somewhat boring 🙂 I’m a bit of a sports fanatic. I played hurling all my life back in Ireland. You are probably asking yourselves ‘What on earth is hurling’, so I encourage you to YouTube it and have a look :). It’s best description to a Canadian would be a mixture of Lacrosse and Hockey. I now play Australian Rules football, squash and soccer here in Vancouver and if I’m not playing sports during my free time, I’ll more than likely be watching it on the TV. I’ve also been taking advantage of some of the outdoor activities BC has to offer. Skiing in winter and hiking in the summer.
Finally, I’m delighted to be a part of the ENRL team and look forward to working with everyone.
