Vancouver sports daySports Day is Friday, May 6, 2016. This event is designed for staff and faculty to build teamwork and celebrate the end of the school year. Teams  of 4-6 people, will take part in four physical or intellectual challenges and enjoy a free lunch! Most teams take about 50 minutes to complete the challenges.

Register either as an individual or as a team. If you register as an individual, you will be matched with teammates from across campus.

If would like to join as a team, your team captain can register the whole team at once.

Register!

Sports Day is brought to you by UBC Human Resources in partnership with UBC Recreation. Thanks  also to UBC Food Services for their generous support so that we can offer participants lunch!

What’s New This Year?

UBC Centennial Themed Activities. As we wind down UBC’s Centennial year, we had to include some activities to challenge your knowledge about how UBC has impacted the world over these last 100 years. Brush up on your history by visiting 100.ubc.ca or try out some of the Centennial themed activities at the Storm the Wall Community & Kids Festival on March 20 to get ready!

  • Different Team Options. This year, we’re asking teams to identify as Competitive or Just for Fun:
Competitive teams will race for the Winners Trophy, be timed for completion of their four activities and will all have to start at the same time. Competitive teams will be eligible for participant prizes, as well as the Spirit Award.
  • Just for Fun teams will play as many activities as they want (until activities close), have a different start time [but not be required to start at the group start], not be ranked or timed and will be eligible for participant prizes and the Spirit Award.
This new system will let us be able to have results earlier, so that it can hopefully be easier for everyone to attend the award ceremony.
