What are the benefits to converting a business or school district to cloud computing?”
The benefits of of cloud computing cannot be ignored and seems to be the future of data storage. With the changing space of the classroom environment, and the issues of security and privacy being of paramount importance, the stage is now set to convert school districts to cloud computing. The benefits are many and will surface once one begins to use the various applications. First, students, administrators and instructors will have a secured space to store data and important files or records. This is critical as confidential data are usually destroyed during disasters or when institutions are vandalized. Having information stored in the clouds with reputable organizations minimizes the risks provided when using storage sources such as hard disk, cds, DVDs, flash drives among others. As it relates to availability, easy access is guaranteed once an Internet connection is in place no matter where the users are. Also, information can be accessed on the go as mobile devices provide similar access as a desktop.
Instructors will also be privy to students’ assignments and quizzes even if they are on a vacation in another part of the world. This level of computing and data freedom provides users with peace of mind. I can attest to this feeling as I currently have some files in Dropbox which gives a total different feeling when compared to when I think about those I have on other sources. It’s like telling someone you trust a top secret 🙂

HI Everton,
I agree with your post on the benefits of converting a business or school district to cloud computing. I believe that more storage and lower costs are the most enticing reasons to convert. Glad to see you are taking advantage of our dropbox cloud:)
