Hi Profs,
Is there a way to edit or delete comments? Not main posts, but simply comments. I tend to make mistakes and like to go back and correct them lest I look a tad foolish. Is there a way to do this that I’m unaware of ?
Thanks,
Brendan Alexander
Hi Brendan. You should be able to edit your own comments while you’re logged in.
Sample below using one of my own comments. When I read it after being logged in, I can use the Edit button to go back in. See example comment below.

Welcome Adeel. Your experiences in Mexico will add some additional context and spice to the course.
Great pic, by the way!

Hi David. Thanks for your prompt reply.
It appears, at least in my account, that I can only edit comments when I originated the post. However, when the post originates from another user (such as yourself for the Emerging Markets Poll), I have no option to edit my comment. Here are a few screen shots to illustrate.
Screenshot 1 – from my own post: http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w101/b_phats/screenshot1_zps9b442664.png

Am I missing something? Highly probable. Not the end of the world either way, just means I’ll be more careful with my comments.

I’ll ask the technical wizards behind the curtains at UBC to see whether there is a fix. Thanks for illustrating the differences, Brendan.
I took a look on the back-end of WP, but could not see a toggle that would make this change. However, I will explore further.

We’ll have an update on this item on Monday, September 9.
Thanks David! Much appreciated.
Hello! Any update on editing our own comments?
We haven’t got an unambiguous fix for this yet, but a discussion is underway…
