snow day

Stef and I were in Sinchon running some errands today when it started snowing really hard!

First snow while I’m here; I didn’t expect it to snow (even though the weather report on Google said it would) so I wore my runners.. and my socks got a bit wet.

The snow was absolutely beautiful, even though the flakes were super big and covered my jacket completely while walking back to dorm; I was really glad that I decided to wear my rain jacket today!

It also completely covered Stef’s giant parka as well…

… and made Stef’s SPAO bag wet enough to rip.

We haven’t had this type of snow in Vancouver for a really long time, so it does make me a bit homesick. My conversations with my family and the people back home aren’t carrying on as well as they should be, and I’m not sure if it’s because I can’t really relate to them as much since I’m not experiencing the same things as them. I wouldn’t really call this homesickness, but it makes me wish that I knew more about what was going on back home. Maybe it’s a type of FOMO? Fear of missing out? It’s also my first time leaving home for such a long period of time. I haven’t really ‘missed’ anyone a lot yet, and I don’t know when it’s going to hit me, but I’m a bit nervous of when that happens. It also hasn’t really hit me that I’m going to be living here for four months even though I’ve moved in and bought all my necessities and everything already.

I’m not really sure if I’m:

a) adjusted to life in Seoul (already)

b) in denial

c) insensitive

Hoping that the answer to this question will come to me soon!
