Volunteering Opportunity for Feb

Burnaby South Science Fair

Burnaby South Secondary School is holding its 17th Annual Science Fair on Thursday February 7th. We are looking for 30 judges to help evaluate high school science projects! No previous experience is required and volunteers will be provided with training packages to help out!  Volunteers will be reimbursed for travel costs and breakfast and lunch will be provided. Come help make this year another success!

When: Feb 7, 2019 8:00AM – 3:00PM (Contact organizer about shift options)
Where: Burnaby South Secondary (5455 Rumble St, Burnaby, BC)

TedED Conference: Encounters

The TEdEd Conference is a student-run conference who hope to inspire youth to think about ideas that change the world and their future in it. The conference aims to provide students with an interactive platform to explore and discover their passion and interests including having organizations such as Let’s Talk Science discuss the possibilities in the STEM fields. Join us at the Let’s Talk Science booth, engaging students in science activities.

Tech-up Showcase at Science World

The Tech-Up Showcase, happening on Family Day (Feb 18), is a celebration of Tech-Up, Science World’s initiative to support teachers and students to develop coding and computational teaching skills. Let’s talk science will be hosting a booth at this event to showcase technology based hands-on science activities and we are looking for keen volunteers to help facilitate activities at the booth throughout the day.
