LFS Vehicle Use Notice

LFS Vehicle Notice

Some Faculty and Staff members have recently noticed that they are unable to book a vehicle due to the previous booking; however, the vehicle has not been used or taken from the parking lot.

Please remember to modify your bookings based on the time that you will be using the vehicles, so that others can make bookings for short-notice meetings, events, or fieldwork.

Please remember that the Toyota Prius is not to be used for fieldwork, and is typically meant for short-term travel to and from meetings, conferences, or tours. Due to these booking issues, we will be making modifications to the LFS Vehicle Policy over the coming months to prevent unnecessary bookings and allow for more effective usage.

Thanks so much,

Meeting 1: Tuesday, 5, September 5, 5:00 – 7:00 PM

Meeting 2: Saturday, September 9, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Meeting 3: Sunday, September 10, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

To apply for the waitlist for September 5, 9, 10 & 16, 2023 ISW click here: https://events.ctlt.ubc.ca/events/online-graduate-instructional-skills-workshop-september-5-9-10-16-2023/

Application opens on July 21 at 9 am and closes on August 30, 2023 at 4:30 pm. By clicking this link, you are applying for the WAITLIST only and this DOES NOT register you for the workshop. Graduate ISWs at UBC are in high demand. To create an equitable registration process all graduate students who apply for an ISW will first be enrolled on a waitlist, from which participants are randomly selected. If a participant has applied for more than one ISW waitlist, their name will appear more frequently when generating the participant list, giving them a higher chance of being selected for an ISW. If you are accepted into the workshop, you will be contacted by our office to confirm your registration. For more information and a list of all upcoming sessions visit: http://ctlt.ubc.ca/gradisw

A participant who wishes to take the Grad ISW is eligible if they are:

  • a full-time or part-time registered graduate student at UBC during the academic term when the ISW is offered
