The Substance Use and Gambling Lab at the University of Calgary and the Healthy Families Lab at the University of British Columbia are running a study about substance use and gambling trends among university students across Canada. All University of British Columbia students are invited to participate in a 15-to-25-minute online survey and enter to win one of four $100 gift cards. You can participate even if you don’t use drugs/substances or gamble.

Yes, it’s already time to think about the Winter terms of 2024/25 …
The LFS TA Application will open soon to accept applications to TA for all 2024/25 Winter terms.

NOTE: for returning TAs – updates in your Additional Information are required before you can view the courses.
There are new fields to complete and update yearly going forward.

As mandated by the CUPE 2278-UBC agreement, the LFS TA Application will only be open for students to apply from:

  • 10:00am, Sunday, March 31st, 2024 – Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 4:30pm.

After closing April 30th at 4:30pm, application is limited exclusively to invitation by instructor or administrator.

If you are off-campus you must use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to access the website.

Poster Competition – IDF World Dairy Summit 2024

Paris – FR – Dairy professionals, farmers, and experts are invited to participate in the International Dairy Federation World Dairy Summit (IDF WDS) 2024 Poster Competition, with posters featuring the 2024 Summit theme of “Dairy for the Future – Proudly committed to a sustainable world”.

The Summit, to be held October 15-18 in Paris, is dairy’s premier annual gathering and brings together more than 1500 dairy sector leaders from 35+ countries. It is an immersive program featuring renowned experts and themes spanning from market dynamics to sustainability and more.

As an important part of knowledge exchange at the IDF WDS, all accepted posters will be displayed during the Summit and considered for the IDF WDS 2024 Poster Award. The French Organizing Committee welcomes all types of posters including case studies, research, and commercial projects.

The winner of the Poster competition will receive a prize of 1000EUR, provided an author is present to accept the award. In addition, plaques will be presented to the winners of each of the seven poster categories which represent IDF’s major workstreams:

  • Safety & Quality – Microbiology
  • Safety & Quality – Chemistry & Composition
  • Human Nutrition & Health
  • Animal Health & Farm Management
  • Science and Dairy Technology
  • Environment & Sustainability
  • Marketing & Economics

Poster abstracts must be submitted online by 15 April. For submission forms, abstract guidelines, and other information, please visit https://www.idfwds2024.com/poster-submission

Poster candidates will receive an email notification of poster abstract acceptance by end of June, with final poster submissions due in pdf format by 20 September.
