Annual Fire Drill at H.R. MacMillan Building on Aug 10th, 2023 at 10AM
The annual fire drill for the H.R. MacMillan building is scheduled to take place on Aug 10th THURSDAY at 10AM. When you hear the alarm, you must evacuate immediately through the nearest exit to the muster location/predesignated meeting area. Please see below what you should do hearing an alarm, and our building map for the muster locations. If you are unfamiliar with the emergency procedures, please carefully review the Building Emergency Response Plan (BERP) and/or email us any questions/concerns at lfs.facilities@ubc.ca.
When you hear an alarm
- Treat it as a real emergency.
- Use the stairway and proceed to the ground floor. Never use elevators if fire is suspected.
- Once outside, proceed to the assembly area so that a head count can be taken. Part of doing your annual fire drill is to find your assembly area before an actual fire occurs.
- Don’t go back in until the all clear has been announced by emergency personnel.
