Interdisciplinary Histories Research Cluster, CfP ‘History, From Page to Stage’

Standard

Interdisciplinary Histories Research Cluster would like to draw your attention to its Call for Proposals for the scriptwriting competition  – “History, From Page to Stage”.  This new program is committed to transdisciplinary arts integration and, specifically, the engagement of the performing arts with history and historical research.

We invite UBC faculty and graduate students to develop short plays or new engagements with existing texts that explore the core themes of our research cluster: marginalized, traumatic, and contested histories, and the ways history is represented in the archives and beyond.

Selected proposals will receive funds to support the development of the work, with a public showcase in the fall of 2021. The expected length of the proposed short play/reading is a 15 to 30-minute run-time.

The deadline for submission is October 8, 2020. Call for Proposals and the application form can be found at https://histories-cluster.ubc.ca/history-page-stage-screenwritingreading-competition-application. If you have any further questions, please, do not hesitate to contact us at Interdisciplinary.Histories@ubc.ca. We look forward to seeing your applications!
